YAICD: Yet Another IMSI Catcher Detector in GSM

In GSM, the network is not authenticated which allows for man-in-the-middle (MITM) attacks. Attackers can track traffic and trace users of cellular networks by creating a rogue base transceiver station (BTS). Such defect in addition to need backward compatibility mobile makes all UMTS, LTE susceptible MITMs. These attacks are conducted using IMSI-Catchers (ICs). Most solutions proposed detecting ICs literature based on specific devices with root access. Also, they cannot identify connected. this paper, we propose an approach called YAICD GSM network. consists sensor that be installed Android devices. It detects extracting 15 parameters from signals received BTSs. We also established lab-scale testbed evaluate various detection comparing it against existing literature. The experimental results show only successfully but identifies yet connected
